Looking through Bike Trader I see a 2007 ( 9 years old ) lovely low mileage GSXR1000K7 priced at £5,995 just over half the price of a new bike, 3 month warranty no ABS still plenty fast but with 9 year old brakes, chain and sprockets, and most importantly 9 year old wiring ( we are getting problems with older bikes electrics as they get more complex ( need I say more)). There is always the worry is it genuine ? has it been crashed ? has it been clocked ? Remember the 2007 bike cost around £7,500 new, 9 years later £6000. A new GSXR1000 2016 model comes with a 3 year warranty ABS brakes is very plenty fast maybe not the best but do you really need 200plus bhp, amazing value at only £11,535 in MotoGP colours, on top of this 48months 0% APR Finance. I cant promise the new GSXR1000 will still be worth £10,000 in 9 years time but lets face it, we expect depreciation, but a 3 year warranty and a whole lot of piece of mind, and the owning of a BRAND NEW BIKE that really is pretty special.
I know not everyone has £6k to throw out on a used bike so if you put down lets say £595 deposit and paid the balance over 3 years at £182.17 per month ( total amount payable £ 7,153.00) APR 13.3%. Or the new bike £ 595 deposit over 48 months ( I know that is an extra year ) at £227.91 a month ( Total amount payable £ 11,535.00) APR 0% - Just over £10 per week more for a brand new latest model with no hidden history or any doubts 36 months full warranty, and you can love it knowing no-one else has got their rotten mits on it.
The choice of course is all yours, but I think the case for buying new over used is pretty strong, if you want to know a bit more about the offers we have on new bikes call in and see us or give Chris a call on 01243 782544
